  7. The patented AT&T BUSTER Test Management and Test Execution System, created by
  8. AT&T Bell Laboratories, improves software quality while reducing testing
  9. intervals up to 60 percent. The Test Executor runs tests in a standard testcase
  10. format, either automatic or requiring human intervention. A test catalogue
  11. supports test planning, sharing, reuse and management reports. Catalog update
  12. is automatic, and the underlying database can be AT&T UNITY (supplied) or the
  13. INFORMIX/SQL database

  15. All phases of testing are supported. Official copies of tests are stored in a
  16. public location. The software supports host (database) and target machines, and
  17. provides tools for test planning, catalog query, test gathering, results
  18. storage, and reporting. The supplied Test Executor runs the UNIX shell, but
  19. others, including TET suites can be run and/or managed. Features include
  20. automatic capture of test I/O into spool files, testcase timeout detection and
  21. control, multiple testcase per test procedure, configuration reporting, and
  22. test modification detection. The standard testcase format is based on IEEE 829.
  23. The software includes the targets for the host CPU. UNIX shell language reduces
  24. the cost of test automation and training. Once tests are created, testing is
  25. ``pushbutton''.
